You can get a Windows 10 Pro for $28 from Kinguin (use code “vulkk” for extra 3% OFF) – I got a copy myself from them :) There is no overriding or replacing, the installation just adds another layer. If the game can benefit from DirectX 11 or 12, it WILL use those.
